What is it like to attend this early years setting?

This provision meets requirements The staff provide a warm and welcoming place for children in the out-of-school provision. The children are greeted with a smile, enthusiasm, and a hug if desired.

The premises are safe and clean. Children are confident to explore both inside and outside, knowing the boundaries. Staff have strong bonds with the children and take time to listen to them.

The manager plans for a wide range of activities. These activities follow children's interests and are stimulating for all ages that attend. For example, outside children join in with football, badminton and skipping.

Inside children enjoy colouring, group games and ...construction play. Children are engaged and happy to be playing alongside their friends.The staff promote good behaviour and question the children on this.

Children can explain how they should behaviour and manage conflict well. They respect each other and listen to one another's views and opinions. For example, they take part in daily 'news', where children get an opportunity to talk to the group.

All children listen attentively to each other. They all follow the rules and routines.

What does the early years setting do well and what does it need to do better?

Leaders have a strong relationship with their staff.

They are aware of their strengths and weaknesses, and are quick to provide support for individual staff when needed. For example, they use performance plans to ensure staff are doing the job correctly. Leaders regularly observe staff interacting with the children.

They have regular meetings where staff can voice concerns. Leaders cater for staff well-being and provide regular training. Recruitment processes are extremely robust and all staff receive a thorough induction to ensure they are aware of their roles and responsibilities.

Leaders and staff communicate well, and all have the same high expectations for behaviour. They all provide a happy, safe and stimulating environment that allows children to learn and develop. They praise the children on their achievements.

This allows children to grow their self-esteem.Staff manage risk well and support children to manage their own risks. Staff are quick to react to children who are hurt and apply the appropriate first aid.

There is constant communication between staff, and they deploy themselves well. The welfare of the children is paramount to all staff and children are safe in their care. All staff have extensive safeguarding knowledge and know the protocols to keep children safe.

Children have opportunities to develop their independence skills. They arrive at the out-of-school provision and immediately put their belongings away. They wash their hands before mealtimes and ask to go to the toilet when needed.

Children confidently ask for help if needed and staff play alongside children if they ask.Staff provide a range of healthy foods for children to choose from at 'teatime'. Staff are aware of allergies, dietary requirements, and preferences, which they display on the notice board.

Staff discuss the importance of drinking water and eating a balanced diet. Staff encourage children to make good choices regarding their health.Staff support children with special educational needs and/or disabilities.

Children have opportunities to thrive beyond their school day. Staff adapt their interactions to meet the needs of each child. They make sure children are valued.

For example, they get down to the child's level to speak to them and give them time to respond.The out-of-school provision has a strong relationship with the school. They work together to ensure the children's needs are met.

The leaders have regular meetings to discuss the welfare of the children. Partnerships with parents are also extremely effective. Parents express their delight with how their children are growing in confidence.
