Summary of key findings for parents

This provision is good The provider has made good progress since the last inspection. She has taken effective action to evaluate her knowledge and enhance the quality of the club to benefit all children. Actions and recommendations have been addressed, with some aspects still being refined.

The provider and staff join in with children's play and use their effective interactions to extend children's learning further. All children make good progress in relation to their starting points. The provider has established effective working partnerships with the local school.

Staff discuss and share information with the class teachers about individual targets and next steps in lea...rning to benefit children's experiences. The provider and staff teach children about different cultures and traditions. One of the ways they do this is by celebrating different festivals, such as Chinese New Year.

Children develop good physical skills and coordination. They frequently play in the garden, where they balance on one leg and take part in obstacle courses and running races. Children learn about rules and fairness, such as sharing and waiting their turn during games.

It is not yet outstanding because: The provider has recently improved the assessment procedures used by staff to monitor children's progress. However, this is not yet fully embedded to check the progress made by different groups of children. The monitoring of staff's performance is still in its infancy and is not sharply focused on raising the quality of teaching to outstanding.
