The provision is outstanding • The exceptional and inspirational manager models leadership qualities of the highest calibre. Her ambition for Birch Community Association to be a centre of excellence has meant that the setting has improved continually and markedly since the last inspection. • From the moment children enter this highly inspirational setting they receive incomparably high levels of care and love.

Staff use expert techniques to support children's emotional and physical well-being. Children settle exceptionally well, display impeccable behaviour and have an astoundingly strong sense of belonging. • Birch Community Centre is a truly inspirational and special place.
It holds high status within the community and is a beacon of exceptional practice. Parents hold the setting in extremely high regard. The volume of written and verbal praise received by the inspector was overwhelming and heartening.

• Highly innovative and inspirational teaching capture children's interests and keeps them superbly motivated and enthused to learn. All children make exceptional gains across the areas of learning and leave the setting with a superb skill base in readiness for their next steps in learning, including their move on to school. • Partnership working is a golden thread of this phenomenal setting.

Extraordinary links with external professionals, schools and parents are rooted in trust and respect. Staff go above and beyond for children and their families. They organise fun days and provide exceptional first-hand visits to the art gallery and sea creature centre.

• The support in place for children who have special educational needs and/or disabilities is outstanding. No stone is left unturned when it comes to providing children with first-rate support and intervention. Exceptional links with external professionals and sharply focused monitoring ensure children succeed and flourish.
