This provision is good • The manager provides staff with opportunities and guidance to help them reflect effectively on their good teaching skills and identify aspects of their practice to further improve.

Recent training has helped staff working with babies to identify even more activities to ignite children's interest. • Staff have successful partnerships with parents. They provide parents with ideas to support children's learning at home and keep them fully informed about their child's progress and development.

This helps to provide continuity for children's care and learning. • Children make good progress. They gain a wide range of useful skills that prepare them wel...l for their future learning and school.

• Staff support children's communication and language development skilfully. They use effective strategies to help children who speak English as an additional language to gain confidence and communicate their wishes clearly. Older children join in lively discussions and babies sing along enthusiastically to songs they have requested.

• Staff are positive role models. They demonstrate a friendly disposition and children form close bonds with them. Babies are happy and secure.

They seek comfort and reassurance from staff and settle quickly on the occasions when they become upset. • Staff working with the two-year-old and pre-school children do not recognise some opportunities to adapt activities to fully reflect the different ways that children learn. • Staff working with older children follow routines strictly and, at times, limit opportunities for children to make decisions and lead their own play and learning.
