Summary of key findings for parents

This provision is good The learning environment is bright, welcoming and child friendly. Resources are well organised so children are able to make independent choices about what they would like to play with. Children are kept occupied and enjoy their short time at the setting.

Staff are friendly and speak gently to the children who are unfamiliar with the creche. They offer comfort to younger children when they become distressed as parents leave. Staff use a key-person system if children attend regularly.

This special person is able to recognise and meet children's individual care needs well and means children develop a secure attachment with the adult. Staff are clear a...bout the procedures to follow should they have any child protection concerns. They have a good understanding about keeping children safe and the security of the premises is a high priority.

Management and staff have worked hard to drive improvement and the quality of the provision since the last inspection. It is not yet outstanding because: Staff are not consistent during snack times, as they do not ensure that all children have washed their hands before eating their snacks. This means children are not learning about the importance of good personal hygiene procedures.

Due to the situation of the setting, it is not possible for children to have free access to the outside spaces. Planning of activities does include some outdoor play or walks around the grounds, but when the weather is not suitable these activities are changed. This means that children who stay all day or those who learn best outside do not have daily access to fresh air and exercise.
