This provision meets requirements Staff provide high-quality and exciting indoor and outdoor activities that children are eager to take part in. Children are happy and show high levels of enthusiasm. For example, children develop their physical skills as they play dodgeball and learn the rules of the game.

They enjoy time with their friends, and play extremely well together.Staff create a warm and friendly atmosphere, and interact well with the children. They are sensitive to the children's feelings and needs, and support them well as they settle into the camp.

Children enjoy storytime, which enables them to rest during the day. Staff help bring the books ...to life by reading with enthusiasm and questioning children about what happens next. Children listen attentively and are drawn into the story.

Activities are well planned to motivate children and to support their developing skills and abilities. Children enjoy plenty of time outdoors, where they can participate in group activities or choose freely from the resources on offer. Staff are good role models for the children, and encourage children to be respectful and mindful of others.

They praise positive behaviour and remind the children of the camp rules before the start of each session. Children behave well, take turns and share equipment. Many staff are qualified and experienced in working with young children and respond well to ensure that their individual needs are met.

This promotes children's confidence and fosters a strong sense of belonging.

What does the early years setting do well and what does it need to do better?

Staff have high expectations and children respond well to clear routines and boundaries. Staff are sensitive to the children's feelings and needs.

They spend time talking to the children, showing interest in their thoughts and views, and in their home lives.Children enjoy the exciting and widely varied indoor and outdoor activities available at the camp. For example, they enjoy playing with hula hoops and observe whose hoop goes furthest.

Children enjoy art and craft activities, such as making cards, and staff skilfully help children to write the card to a person of their choice. Children are confident to express their ideas. Staff are on hand and offer lots of praise and encouragement.

Clear routines provide children with good structure to their day. This keeps them occupied, and ensures that their needs for rest and refreshment are addressed. Children enjoy their snacks and lunch with their friends, where they have plenty of opportunity to communicate and engage with each other.

Staff use mealtimes to teach children about the importance of staying hydrated, and encourage children to eat their fruit snack.The atmosphere in the camp is positive and children respond well to learning new games and activities. For example, children are excited to play 'ocean tag'.

They run around with joy pretending to be fish and trying not to get caught by the shark. Children who are new to the club receive effective support from their key person. This helps children to form friendships and feel happy and secure.

Staff are attentive and very proactive. They plan activities they know the children will enjoy. This results in highly engaged children who join in and have fun.

Staff ensure that they provide a safe and secure environment. For example, children confidently relay the rules of the camp and understand the reasons why rules are important.Managers gather valuable information from parents prior to their children starting.

This helps to ensure that children's individual interests and needs are met when planning activities. Staff exchange information with parents daily so they are fully aware of their children's day and to provide continuity of care. Parents state that they are happy with the care that their children receive.

The provider has ensured that the camp is inclusive. They support children with special educational needs and/or disabilities well and help them to settle in at the camp on arrival. Furthermore, the provider works in partnership with schools and the local authority to include children from an activity and food programme.

Managers provide staff with a robust training and supervision schedule and are committed to providing excellent care. Staff speak highly of the managers and report that they feel appreciated and supported with ongoing training.

Safeguarding

The arrangements for safeguarding are effective.

Leaders, managers and all staff have a good understanding of their role to keep children safe. They are aware of the possible indicators that could suggest a child is at risk of harm and know the correct procedure to follow if they have any concerns. The leadership team implements robust recruitment and vetting procedures.
