Summary of key findings for parents

The provision is good • The manager and staff monitor children's progress effectively to identify children who need extra support. Staff work closely with external agencies to help children catch up. Children make good progress from their individual starting points.

• The welcoming staff provide children with a warm, happy and secure environment. Children are independent and attend to their personal needs. They actively engage in play and are curious about the world around them.

• Staff use a variety of ways to engage and involve parents in all areas of the nursery. For example, they provide parents with regular updates on their child's achievements and share ideas for p...arents to build on their learning at home. • The leadership and management team is effective in evaluating practice.

For example, it has made improvements since the last inspection, and children enjoy playing and learning with the full range of natural play activities and resources, indoors and outdoors. It is not yet outstanding because: • At times, the manager does not make the best use of supervisory meetings to address weaknesses in staff practice, to help develop their skills even further. • On occasions, staff miss opportunities to promote and encourage older children's literacy skills, to extend their learning.
