This provision meets requirements Children are at the heart of everything this club does. Staff are extremely welcoming and caring. They help children to settle quickly and develop trusting and encouraging relationships.

Children experience an exciting range of sports and play opportunities. The environment is stimulating and well planned for them. For instance, children show creativity, by choosing art materials for their sea life pictures.

The younger children receive effective support from staff who get to know them well. Children's individual needs are met exceptionally well, including those who have special educational needs and/or disabilities. Child...ren participate in physical exercise, indoors and outdoors.

Children enthusiastically enjoy developing their physical skills with the sports coach. They take part in a range of physical sessions in line with the current theme 'The Olympics'. For example, children run in races and jump over hurdles.

Staff have high expectations of children's behaviour. They support children well in their play. Children demonstrate that they feel safe at the club.

For example, they talk about the rules to keep themselves safe. The staff are skilful at threading safety routines into their daily conversations. Therefore, children behave well.

What does the early years setting do well and what does it need to do better?

There is a strong leadership team in place and, together, they accurately evaluate the effectiveness of the club. They continually make positive changes to help meet the needs of all children and to improve their daily experiences. Parents and children give feedback, and staff encourage children to be involved in making decisions and planning.

For example, new resources were purchased, following the children's interests. This helps children develop their self-esteem.Children enjoy healthy, nutritious snacks and meals.

Staff promote the importance of good health. They use local health initiatives to encourage the importance of healthy lifestyles. Additionally, the supervisor sent information home to parents to support healthy food choices.

Staff encourage children to select the healthier options in their lunch boxes. This helps children to understand how to make healthy life choices.Children understand the importance of good hygiene through activities and the everyday routine.

For example, staff regularly remind children to wash their hands and ask them if they know why, to check their understanding.Children enjoy spending time with each other. They enjoy competing against each other and excitedly work in teams during planned sport activities.

Staff use these opportunities to embrace the children's knowledge of different countries. They introduce the flags of Jamaica and the Unites States of America. They discuss the sports that the countries are famous for, such as running.

Children behave well and play harmoniously together, taking turns and sharing equipment. Older children happily help the younger children, for example showing them how to play games and helping them to access resources.Staff have secure partnerships with parents and professionals.

Staff gather information from parents about their children. For example, they find out about children's likes and dislikes, family members and any medical needs. This provides continuity in meeting children's additional and unique needs.

Parents comment that their children settle very quickly.The manager holds regular meetings with staff, which supports them to feel valued. Staff bring their experience and knowledge of childcare to the club.

This helps them to develop activities and experiences for children, such as a varied range of sport and craft activities. Staff feel part of a strong team and that their ideas and opinions are taken on board.The leadership team places high importance on keeping children safe.

The premises are safe and secure. Managers and staff risk assess thoroughly to ensure that areas used by children are safe and suitable for their needs. Robust procedures are in place for dropping off and collecting children to ensure their safety.
