Summary of key findings for parents
This provision is outstanding • The experienced and knowledgeable manager leads a staff team that is highly motivated, enthusiastic and strives for excellence. The manager is forward-thinking and continuously reflects on practice, swiftly identifying where improvements can be made. • Children flourish and display a strong sense of belonging at this homely and welcoming club. They play in an environment which is extremely well organised and has a wide array of interesting resources both indoors and outside. Children have fun. Their play is freely chosen and under their control. • Partnerships with parents are strong. Staff meet with parents when children first start in order to ensure they have a detailed knowledge of children’s individual needs and preferences. They use this information to plan a wide range of exciting play activities around children’s interests. Staff take time at the end of the session to inform parents about their child’s time at the club and to pass on any information from school. • Children form exceptionally close bonds with the kind and attentive staff, who place a high priority on helping children to feel emotionally secure and at ease. • Children are articulate and confident during play and interaction with their peers, staff and visitors. They say they really like their time at the club, have lots of friends to play with and enjoy all of the activities on offer. • Staff have excellent links with the local schools. They meet regularly to share information and to ensure continuity of care and learning. For example, they plan activities at the club to complement the learning that takes place at school.
