Summary of key findings for parents

This provision is outstanding Children thrive in this incredibly friendly nursery which is at the heart of the community. Relationships in the nursery are superb and children and their families develop strong attachments with staff. Behaviour is excellent. Staff calmly help children to find solutions to disagreements that arise. They talk the problems through and help children to appreciate the feelings of others as well as themselves. Staff have excellent links with the local school. Children’s individual needs, welfare and stages of development are central to the transition to nursery. Excellent communication ensures the school knows how it can support children and their families. Children make excellent progress in communication and language. Staff are highly skilled at adapting their language. Strategies, such as targeted support or key word and picture cards, help children to learn key words rapidly. Excellent partnerships with parents raise the quality of learning to the highest possible level. Excellent communication and a weekly parents’ group helps parents to understand how they can help their children at home. Leadership is inspirationalThe manager demonstrates an uncompromising commitment towards achieving excellence in all areas. Self-evaluation is highly reflective to identify better and more successful ways of working. Staff astutely plan slightly more challenging ways to develop children’s ideas. Outcomes for children are consistently high in relation to children’s starting points. Children who have special educational needs and/or disabilities are extremely well supported. Staff have developed excellent relationships with a range of knowledgeable professionals. They provide targeted support to ensure children make high rates of progress.
