Summary of key findings for parents

The provision is good • The manager and staff monitor children's progress and identify any gaps in learning. They put plans in place to help ensure all children make good progress.

• The manager regularly considers the views of staff, parents and children to help her initiate improvements. For example, children help to decide the layout of the setting. • Children learn about the world around them effectively.

For example, they watch how snails move in the garden and explore how, when touched, the scent of the lemon mint plant is transferred to their fingers. • The manager and staff are very good role models and children's behaviour is excellent. They provide an extremely... warm and nurturing setting where children's views are valued and respected.

• The manager and staff are very successful in supporting the children's emotional development. For example, staff offer children cuddles, praise them and build on their developing self-esteem extremely well. • Children enjoy performing small tasks on their own, such as choosing their own snack and pouring their own drinks.

They learn good independent skills, in preparation for their future learning. It is not yet outstanding because: • The manager and staff do not yet focus fully on ways to raise the quality of practice to outstanding levels. • The manager and staff do not consistently give parents details about how they can extend their child's learning at home.
