They support children well through times of change. For example, children benefit from a flexible settling-in policy that meets their individual needs. • The manager evaluates the playgroup effectively.

She takes account of the views of staff, parents and children to target areas for further development. For example, the manager has introduced more effective early writing opportunities to meet the recommendation from the last inspection. • Children have lots of opportunities to learn about the local community and wider world.... For example, they decorated a lorry to enable them to take part in the village annual carnival. • Children are happy and motivated to learn.

They develop good self-confidence and take pride in their achievements, such as showing staff the work they have done and sharing achievements from home. • Systems to track groups the progress of different groups of children are not fully effective to consistently raise outcomes for all children to the highest level. • Staff do not consistently provide highly challenging activities for older children and those who prefer to investigate and learn outdoors.
