Summary of key findings for parents

This provision is good • Staff are well deployed throughout the nursery. Deputy managers in each age group monitor the quality of teaching and learning. This helps to ensure that the activities provided are age appropriate and the environment is stimulating for the children.

• Children are kind and considerate to others. For example, they talk about the importance of everyone finding an egg in the Easter hunt so that each child has one. • Children have established trusting relationships with the staff.

Staff speak to the children in a calm and respectful manner. Children develop a strong sense of security. This helps them to feel safe and secure and supports their emotio...nal well-being successfully.

• The manager monitors the progress of different groups of children well, including those in receipt of early education funding. • The manager uses self-evaluation effectively to identify areas to improve. For instance, the staff team has developed the outdoor area to support children's sensory and physical skills further.

Each age group has access to their own outdoor area that is age appropriate and highly stimulating. • Staff do not always have immediate access to the most accurate and up-to-date information about children's care, learning and development when children move age groups within the nursery, to precisely plan for their next steps in learning. • Occasionally, during free-play activities, staff are not highly responsive in adapting their teaching methods to extend the learning even further.
