Children make a successful start in the early years in response to good teaching, support and stimulating experiences.

Information about this school

Boscastle is much smaller than the average-sized primary school. The school is federated with Port Isaac School. An executive headteacher leads both schools and a single governing body also serves both of them.

The majority of pupils are from White British backgrounds. The proportion of pupils with SEND is broadly average and varies significantly from year to year. The proportion of disadvantaged pupils is below average.

The number of disadvantaged pupils varies from year to year within the very small year groups. On occasion, a well-above-average proportion of pupils either enter or leave the school other than at the normal time. Children experience early years provision in a mixed Reception and Year 1 class.
