Description of the school

This is a larger than average sized first school. It draws pupils from a wide area, parts of which are recognised as being disadvantaged.

The proportion of pupils with learning difficulties and/or disabilities is average. Most pupils are of White British origin and the majority speak English as their first language, although this is not the case for a small, but increasing, proportion. When children join Reception their attainment is typically below what is usually expected for this age group.
