Summary of key findings for parents and pupils

This is a good school Senior leaders, including governors, have an accurate understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of their school. Their strong commitment to providing excellent education for pupils is shared by staff. Governors hold leaders closely to account for the impact of their actions.

However, they have not ensured that the curriculum information on the school's website reflects the good practice found in school. Subject leaders are aspirational, well trained and knowledgeable. As a result, their leadership of most subjects, including English, mathematics, science and computing, is strong.

However, the impact of their leadership on other subjec...ts is not fully developed. Pupils' conduct is exemplary. Pupils are polite and courteous.

They exhibit great respect for members of staff, visitors and each other. This reflects the caring ethos that pervades all aspects of the school. Pupils are knowledgeable about how to keep themselves safe in the community and online because of the high-quality teaching they receive.

Children get off to a good start in early years because of the good teaching they receive in the vibrant learning environments inside and outside the school building. The quality of teaching is good. Teachers make learning interesting through well-considered use of links between subjects, which brings learning to life.

As a result, pupils are well prepared for their next stage of education. On occasions, teachers do not share clearly their expectations of most-able pupils, particularly in writing. Sometimes, pupils and children in early years do not receive the challenge needed to develop their knowledge and understanding at greater depth.

Attendance is high. Pupils say they love their school and rarely miss a day without good reason. Parents and carers share their children's pride in the school and overwhelmingly support the work of leaders to bring about improvements.

Pupils' personal development and welfare lie at the heart of this school and are outstanding. Teachers promote pupils' confidence and aspirations strongly through a wide range of opportunities. Consequently, pupils' attitudes to learning are excellent.

Pupils develop a deep understanding of their community and the wider world because of the strong promotion of local traditions and the wide range of cultural experiences provided by the well-designed and effectively implemented curriculum.
