Gowerton School is an English-medium 11 to 19 mixed comprehensive school maintained by Swansea local authority. Currently there are 1053 pupils on roll which is lower than at the time of the last inspection when there were 1212. The number in the sixth form is also lower at 116 compared with 158 in 2011.
