Description of the school This is a selective, co-educational grammar school with a large sixth form. The proportion of students entitled to free school meals is smaller than average, as is the number identified with learning difficulties and/or disabilities. Over two-thirds of the school’s population are from minority ethnic groups, with just over a half coming from Asian/British-Indian backgrounds. The school gained mathematics and computing specialist status in 2004. It holds a variety of awards, including the Healthy Schools silver award and Sports Mark.
