What is it like to attend this early years setting?
The provision is good
Children are warmly welcomed into this homely setting. Staff know the children very well and are able to comfort, reassure and settle them with ease. They form secure attachments with all the staff and are happy in this positive and nurturing environment.
Staff set up engaging resources that follow children's interests and learning, meaning they are motivated to join in. The children have the freedom to explore in the cosy environment, and they enjoy making their own choices as adults guide and support their play. Staff praise children and celebrate their achievements with enthusiasm.
Children are excited when staff sh...are positive stories sent from home. This helps them to grow in confidence and meet behaviour expectations. Children are settled and have positive attitudes towards learning.
They maintain attention for good lengths of time and concentrate well as they select puzzles and enjoy sorting shapes and colours with confidence. Children demonstrate good fine motor skills as they use a magnetic rod to place the shapes in a sorter.
What does the early years setting do well and what does it need to do better?
Staff are excellent role models for communication and language and help children with learning new vocabulary and speaking confidently.
They listen to children and give them time to respond. Staff are wonderful storytellers, and this sparks children's love of reading. Children sit and listen intently to familiar stories, follow along with props and join in with a repertoire of songs.
Children are imaginative and use their own ideas. They use their knowledge of the story 'Noah's Ark' to play with the animals in the water tray, tell the story confidently and count how many animals fit in the ark. Children build on their mathematical knowledge and skills as they count, sort and organise objects.
Children are developing good physical skills, and staff focus on planning and providing activities that specifically develop their fine and gross motor skills. Children enjoy using play dough and cutters. They roll and manipulate the dough.
They use beanbags and ropes to build their upper body strength and the large outdoor space for bikes and running.Staff observe and monitor children's learning effectively. They plan intentional activities that build on what individual children know or plan for their next steps.
However, some staff interactions do not consistently help all children to make the most of activities and experiences and improve the impact on their learning.Independence is fostered, and children enjoy doing things for themselves. Through praise and encouragement, staff give children the confidence to have a go.
Children wash their hands as they get ready for snack time, and they find and put on aprons and coats. Children put away resources they are using before they find something else.Children are kind and caring and demonstrate good behaviour.
They follow instructions well and are very excited to welcome their friends in the morning. Children enjoy a special song time where they learn each others' names, listen to each other and wait for their turn. They have a sense of belonging and feel valued.
Parent partnerships are strong, and parents speak highly of the setting. The communication between the setting and home is consistent and supportive, and parents enjoy receiving the weekly informative newsletter. They know what their children are learning about and are particularly pleased with how settled and attached they are to the wonderful staff team.
Leaders are knowledgeable and dedicated to their roles. They identify areas of improvement and work hard to put these into place to improve outcomes for children. They lead with a clear vision for the setting and are ambitious in their plans and curriculum design to ensure that children are confident and ready for the next stage of education.
Safeguarding
The arrangements for safeguarding are effective. There is an open and positive culture around safeguarding that puts children's interests first.
What does the setting need to do to improve?
To further improve the quality of the early years provision, the provider should: provide further opportunities to enhance staff's teaching skills and monitor the impact to ensure interactions focus on and extend children's learning according to their age and stage of development.
