This provision is good The manager has enhanced her self-evaluation to identify and make targeted improvements to staff practice. She has worked effectively with other professionals to introduce new procedures to help staff keep children safe in the nursery.

Staff gather detailed information from parents about what their children know and can do when they join the nursery. Incorporating information from their detailed observations, staff quickly identify children who may need additional support. This particularly supports children who have special educational needs (SEN) and/or disabilities.

Staff improve children's outcomes well. The effective key-person system supports... children's emotional well-being. Children are secure in their relationships with staff and confidently turn to them for help, if needed.

Staff are good role models for the children in their care. They are kind, warm and caring. Children are happy and settled.

All children make good progress from their different starting points. It is not yet outstanding because: Although staff identify what children need to learn next, planning at times is not as focused as possible on the individual learning and development of each child or identified goals. Staff do not offer the best possible support for children to develop an interest in early reading or to explore reading materials.
