Summary of key findings for parents

This provision is good • Members of the dedicated management team have a clear vision for the further development of the nursery. They consider the views of staff, children and parents.

This promotes a strong sense of pride and enthusiasm that flows through throughout the setting. • Staff know children very well. They plan interesting experiences based on children's individual interests and learning needs.

As a result, all children make good and, in some cases, rapid progress from their starting points. • The manager and staff have developed highly effective partnerships with local schools. Children moving on to school look forward to visits to their new classes.
.../>This helps build effectively on their confidence, as they become familiar with teachers, the school environment and routines. • Children have an exceptional range of opportunities to learn about people and the wider community. For example, they regularly visit the elderly residential home where they share common interests such as craft activities and going on walks together.

• Some staff are not as effective as possible in using questioning techniques to help children learn. In their enthusiasm, they ask children too many questions in quick succession, without giving them time to think and respond with their answers or gestures. • Some of the daily routines are not organised effectively, to ensure babies do not wait unnecessarily for their lunch.
