What is it like to attend this early years setting?

This provision meets requirements Children are warmly welcomed into the club and respond very well to the enthusiastic, friendly staff team. Staff know children well and ensure their individual needs are effectively met. Children who are new to the club are supported to settle quickly by attentive staff, who play closely alongside them.

This helps children to feel secure and enjoy their time in the club. The play environment is well organised and set up, according to children's interests and following their input into the planning of activities. Children eagerly make choices about their play.

They display high levels of concentration as they take part in d...rawing and colouring activities. Children proudly show visitors the models they skilfully make with air-dried clay. They show a high level of confidence in their own abilities and are keen to try out new experiences.

Children's behaviour is exceptional. They have been involved in devising the rules for the club, which gives them ownership and encourages them to follow these. Children show great respect for the staff and their friends.

They are quick to comment on the good job their friends have done in their activity. Furthermore, they are keen to offer support to children who may need this, for example to demonstrate how to play a new game on an electronic device.

Staff plan holiday club activities well, including opportunities for children to be outside and physically active. For example, they go on treasure hunts and enjoy sports days. Children love to explore the woods under close supervision and build fires to toast marshmallows.

Another exciting opportunity is building stone towers in the local small river. Children really look forward to planned outings and can add to a wish list of places they would like to visit. They also have access to the associated nursery garden.

Here, they can explore sand and water play and make use of the slide and climbing wall.Staff meet children's individual needs very well. They gather lots of important information from parents and, where necessary, liaise with the school or other professionals involved with children.
