Summary of key findings for parents

The provision is good • The organised and professional committee and manager work together to provide strong leadership and direction.

They are committed to high-quality care and education, using fundraising events in a targeted manner to make improvements to the provision. For example, they have raised money to fund a large project to develop the garden area to enrich children's outdoor experiences. • Staff teach children a variety of fun songs, introducing new words and encouraging clapping to a rhythm.

Children often ask to repeat their favourite songs. This supports children's language and physical development. • Staff support children's social skills, such as how to... take turns and share equipment in a fair way.

Children ask friends for a turn on a tricycle and use a timer to help organise when to change over. • Children are well prepared for their next stage in learning, such as school, at this welcoming, warm setting. They are keen to participate in activities and exhibit a positive attitude towards learning.

• Parents give glowing feedback about the happiness of their children and the, 'Lovely' staff team. They note how supportive staff are, particularly in helping children settle and progress. Staff regularly consult with parents to identify potential improvements.

It is not yet outstanding because: • Staff do not make good use of opportunities to support children's independence skills. Sometimes, adults complete tasks that children could learn to do for themselves. • Staff do not consistently monitor the progress made by different groups of children to check that all groups receive the support they need to increase the potential for them to achieve at the highest possible levels.
