What is it like to attend this early years setting?

This provision meets requirements Children are happy, safe and enthusiastic from the time the club starts. They enjoy participating in new challenging activities.

Their faces light up as they describe how to make special candles and boxes during Diwali. Children benefit from a diverse cultural team, who support their understanding of different cultural and religious events. They are respectful towards their friends and adults and are developing a good understanding of the wider world.

Staff provide a safe and nurturing environment. Children behave well. For example, they patiently take turns as they wait to hang up their coats and bags when they arrive fro...m school.

Children know the importance of walking and not running when moving around the school.From a young age, children confidently take part in a wide range of activities. For instance, young children colour and cut out different shapes.

They create designs and stick them together. Older children use technology to help them with their homework and play games. Children develop their problem-solving and concentration skills.

Staff support children's individual needs, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND). For instance, they provide support to help them engage in group activities. Children receive lots of positive praise.

This builds on their emotional well-being and self-esteem.

What does the early years setting do well and what does it need to do better?

The manager works closely with staff to ensure the setting is continuing to develop their good practice. For example, they gather feedback from the children and parents.

Staff have regular meetings to review the provision.Older children are kind and include younger children in their play. Children sit at tables, share, and take turns using different resources.

For instance, they use their imagination as they build with play dough. They ask their friends politely to share different tools, such as rolling pins and cutters.Staff provide children with a range of snacks and meals.

Children develop their independence skills as they serve themselves from the range of vegetables. They develop a good understanding of what makes them healthy. Children follow good hygiene routines, such as washing their hands before eating.

Children have lots of opportunities to develop their physical skills. They play different games in the outdoor area throughout the year. Staff maximise the playground area during the winter months as they benefit from outdoor lighting.

In addition, they create a safe space inside for children to play ball games. Children and staff enjoy following the online music and exercise sessions. Children develop their large and small motor skills.

The ambitious manager works closely with the staff. Some staff work within the school, which provides continuity of care. However, the club need to ensure that information from the school about individual children's learning and development is shared with the club more regularly, to help keep information up to date.

The staff have positive relationships with children and ask them meaningful questions. They prompt children to help build on their knowledge. Children have lots of conversations about what they are doing and share their ideas.

For instance, they explain the process of how to make bread. Children are delighted to show off the bread they have made.Partnerships with parents are good.

Parents are positive about the club. They say that staff provide regular feedback and keep them well informed. They appreciate how friendly and supportive they are.

Parents confidently ask questions when they need information. However, staff do not ensure that all parents receive information about the menus regularly.Staff deploy themselves well and provide good levels of supervision to help keep children safe.

New children, including children with SEND, settle quickly. Staff engage with children using resources that they are really interested in. For example, they sit with young children playing with the doll's house.

The manager has high expectations for children's conduct and behaviour. Staff are excellent role models and help children to manage their emotions. For instance, children have quieter areas where they can sit.

They have a good understanding of the club rules. Children demonstrate consistently positive behaviour.

Safeguarding

The arrangements for safeguarding are effective.

The manager and staff show a good awareness of the signs and symptoms of abuse. They have a good understanding of safeguarding matters, such as exposure to extremist views and behaviours. Staff know the procedures to follow should they have any concerns.

In addition, they are aware of what they should do if they have a concern about a colleague and who they should report this too. The manager supports staff to access regular safeguarding training. There are robust recruitment and vetting procedures in place to make sure that staff are suitable to work with children.
