The provision is good • Staff provide a welcoming environment and an interesting range of activities and experiences that interest children. Staff understand how young children learn and develop.

They engage well with children as they play helping to extend and build upon their learning. • Staff place a strong emphasis on children's emotional security. Children appear happy and settled.

They are confident, self-assured and thoroughly enjoy their time at this welcoming and friendly pre-school. • Managers and staff accurately assess and monitor children's development. This enables them to identify and address any gaps in learning.

• The manager and staff work very... well as a team. They use continuous self-evaluation systems well to identify further areas for improvement. They are passionate and enthusiastic about providing children with the best possible experiences.

It is not yet outstanding because: • Occasionally, the organisation of activities does not enable all children to fully participate. For example, during group activities staff ask children to leave, before it has finished, to wash their hands or have their nappy changed. • Staff do not focus on incorporating children's next steps for learning during daily activities frequently enough, for them to be able to make outstanding progress in their development.
