Summary of key findings for parents

This provision is goodnChildren start each morning with a warm welcome and have formed strong bonds with staff. They are excited to see their friends and curious to explore the wide range of interesting activities they have to play with.nBabies are provided with stimulating resources that they thoroughly enjoy manipulating with their fingers and testing out how they work.

For example, babies enjoy pulling out kitchen items from a large basket. They are fascinated as they investigate feather dusters, metal whisks and a range of hard bristle brushes.nChildren relish the opportunity to play and learn in the large garden.

Staff extend children's knowledge outside through a ra...nge of challenges and through children's individual interests. For instance, children on opposite sides of the garden challenge each other to see who can build the highest tower. Staff support children to build huge towers of bricks.

Children are highly motivated and work cooperatively as a team to achieve their goals. They thoroughly enjoy knocking the bricks down.nManagers have good training opportunities in place for staff.

However, they do not precisely focus on developing an expert knowledge of teaching. Managers have not fully explored ways to continually build on the quality of teaching to help children develop to their full potential.nStaff have established strong relationships with parents.

They receive very high praise from parents regarding the help and care they provide for their children. Parents say that staff go beyond what is expected of them and provide excellent levels of support for their families.nSometimes, staff miss opportunities to extend younger children's early mathematical skills and understanding.
