The provision is good • Partnerships with the on-site school are strong. Some members of the staff team also work at the school and there are good systems to share information about children's care and needs. This helps make the daily transition for children to the club run smoothly.

• Staff know the children well. They place a good focus on getting to know the new children, and help them settle and make friends. Children are warmly welcomed on arrival and staff make the time to talk to children about their day and how they are feeling.

• There are effective systems to ensure there is a good flow of information about children between the club, school staff and parents. S...taff pass on messages daily to parents and keep them well informed about their children's day. • Staff consult with children about what they like, and they also use children's interests and topics from school to provide a good range of enjoyable experiences.

• Staff provide a relaxed environment where children can freely choose what to do and they have ample opportunities to socialise with their friends. It is not yet outstanding because: • Staff do not make the best possible use of all the available space to help provide children with a rich range of play experiences. • Staff do not fully consider the needs of the very youngest children on the occasions they choose not to take part in the physical play team games.
