Summary of key findings for parents

This provision is good • Children understand the behavioural expectations and behave well. They respond well to the new club's rules and routines.

Staff model the good behaviour they expect of children. Children are kind and considerate. • Staff help children to learn about keeping themselves safe through a variety of activities, such as helping with the risk assessment check before outside play.

• Children say they are happy at the club and staff have warm and positive relationships with them. • Staff regularly exchange information with teachers and parents. This helps them to support children's learning at school.

Staff use the views of parents and children to... identify and meet children's individual needs. • The outdoor area is not always sufficiently stimulating to keep all children motivated and involved in learning. • Children are not always provided with enough opportunities to further develop their understanding of how to keep themselves healthy.

For example, the food available to them at snack time does not always include a healthy option. • The manager has regular team meetings with staff and has identified areas for improvement to raise the overall quality of practice at the club. However, she does not fully monitor staff practice effectively to raise the quality of their interactions with children to the highest level.
