What is it like to attend this early years setting?

This provision meets requirements Children benefit from the calm and happy environment in this extremely well-organised club. The youngest children, and those who are less confident, are given supportive attention as soon as they arrive from school. They are gently encouraged by the caring staff to leave their teacher and join in activities.

All children, including children with special educational needs and/or disabilities, quickly become completely engaged in the play on offer, such as a construction challenge or crafts. Those who just wish to relax, choose to read a book or share a story with staff. Children behave very well and follow instructions.

The...y talk proudly about their achievements outside the club in the daily welcome meeting. Staff and children listen carefully and celebrate successes, which increases children's self-esteem. Children are aware of the behaviour expectations in the club.

They are reminded of these in a positive way. Children are delighted by the stickers given to reinforce helpful and kind actions. They compete to see who can gain the most.

The consistent routines of the club help children to feel secure and safe. For example, staff give clear warnings when it is time for activities to change or teatime. Children happily help to tidy up.
