What is it like to attend this early years setting?

This provision meets requirements Children leave their classrooms at the end of the school day, excited to attend the club. Staff welcome children and talk to them about their day, where children share what they have been learning at school.

They listen carefully to staff when they take the register and follow their instructions. Children understand the importance of listening to keep them safe. When children arrive at the club, they demonstrate their understanding of the club's routine by placing their belongings away and sitting down for group time.

Younger children are confident to ask for help from staff when needed. Staff are passionate about the care... and experiences they provide for children, who are excited to find out what is on offer each day and eagerly join in. Children demonstrate a high level of independence from a young age.

They wash their own hands, get dressed for outdoors and help to clean up after their snack, by washing their plates and clearing the table. Staff are good role models. They encourage children to use their manners throughout the session by saying please and thank you.

What does the early years setting do well and what does it need to do better?

The manager prioritises parent partnerships and ensures there is always excellent communication in place. Parents report positive feedback for the setting, praising the 'friendly' and 'professional' staff. Children enjoy attending each session and parents receive verbal feedback at the end of the day.

Updates about the club and daily activities are shared with parents via an online app and a regular newsletter. This supports children's transition between settings and ensures information is relayed to parents.The club has access to a large playground, sports hall and smaller outdoor area.

Children access the outdoors everyday and take part in a variety of activities alongside a sports coach. Some activities children can take part in are archery, football, dodgeball and dance. Children are excited to join in a range of sports activities and enjoy working as a team.

They encourage peers during the game and celebrate together.The club provides a 'calming corner', where children can sit and relax after a busy day at school. Children use the area to read books, draw pictures or sit and observe.

The manager places focus on children's well-being and has introduced a well-being box. Children have the opportunity to write down their feelings and place it in the box throughout each session. Staff check regularly and check in with children when needed.

Staff are also aware of the benefits of this for safeguarding children and they gently remind children that staff are there to help and support them, whatever their concern.Children demonstrate strong friendships within the group and enjoy spending their time with a range of other children. They support their younger peers, showing an interest in what they are doing and helping them during craft activities.

Children develop a sense of belonging and pride at the club and enjoy spending their time there.Staff provide a healthy snack for children at the beginning of each session and cater for different food allergies. Children sit down at the tables and enjoy the social event.

They talk to peers about their day and share jokes with each other. Children are excited to share new jokes they have learned with staff.Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities are well cared for.

Staff liaise with the special educational needs coordinator at the school to ensure they are consistent with their approach. This helps to complement the learning that takes place in school.Staff report high levels of well-being and enjoy working for the provider.

Managers provide good support and help staff to further their knowledge and practice by providing regular training opportunities.
