This provision meets requirements Children thrive in this well-organised and welcoming club. They arrive from school and their after-school activities ready to have fun with their friends.

Staff warmly greet children, which helps to make them feel secure. Staff talk to children about their day in school. They show children that they are interested in what they have to say.

Children demonstrate high levels of engagement and confidence. They explain how they made play dough earlier in the week and how much they enjoy making models with it. Children are engrossed in their activities.

They play cooperatively, sharing their thoughts and ideas. Children... delight in making colourful pictures, carefully drawing out intricate shapes and patterns. They proudly show their writing skills as they put their names on the paper.

Children listen with rapt attention as staff read funny, rhyming stories. Children's behaviour is excellent. Staff have a calm approach.

Their role modelling of politeness and kindness contributes significantly to children's consistent use of good manners and sensible behaviour. Younger children benefit from the caring and kind nature of the older children. They guide younger children as they play pool together, demonstrating how to hold the cue and strike the white ball.

This boosts children's skills, confidence and self-esteem.

The manager leads the setting exceptionally well. Her superb understanding of the needs of the children and extensive experience in childcare are put into practice in every aspect of the club.

The excellent organisation helps to ensure children's safety. Staff have clearly defined procedures for marking children's attendance. They are meticulous in monitoring children's whereabouts within the club, the school and the outdoor area.

Staff give high priority to the needs of children. Their well-being and comfort are at the heart of the club. Staff value children's input, actively seeking their views on what works well and what can be done to improve.

Staff gather information from children and their parents about children's interests and what they know and can do. This helps staff to gain a thorough understanding of the children in their care.Children follow hygiene procedures that help to ensure their good health.

Children understand the routine for washing their hands on arrival and always before they eat. Staff ensure the food and drinks provided help children to make healthy choices. The manager considers the nutritional balance of the snacks and light meals provided.

Staff use mealtimes to help children learn to keep themselves healthy and well.The manager and her staff build strong partnerships with the school where all children attend. These effective relationships help to ensure continuity of care for every child.

They share an ethos that values children. This helps to build trust and supports children's sense of security.Staff support children really well.

Interactions are relaxed and fun. Staff are attentive and approachable. Children delight in sharing their interests and their knowledge with those around them.

They talk about their favourite subjects, showing and sharing their in-depth knowledge of dinosaurs, pets and the recent learning about Chinese New Year.Parents are extremely positive about the club, what it offers their children and the excellent staff. They describe it as brilliant, fantastic and fabulous.

Their high regard and appreciation of the provision contributes to children's feelings of security and enjoyment. The responses to the recent questionnaire for parents reflect these views.Staff benefit from the highly effective support of the manager.

She helps them to develop their knowledge and skills, acting as a role model and encouraging them to use the skills that they have to full advantage. The manager encourages staff to complete training to underpin their knowledge. She checks that staff understand what they learn and that it is put into practice.

As a result, the staff are confident in their practice, share their thoughts and ideas and support one another.
