Summary of key findings for parents

This provision is good The manager understands her responsibilities in meeting the requirements of the early years foundation stage. Staff provide many learning opportunities for children, indoors and outside. These opportunities motivate, excite and encourage children to be inquisitive.

For example, children enthusiastically watch a spider running quickly across a mat and staff encourage them to watch how fast it goes. Children learn about appropriate behaviour. Staff are good role models.

They remind children about taking turns and being kind to others. Staff are warm and caring and praise children constantly for their achievements. This helps to promote children's emo...tional attachments and develop a good level of self-esteem.

Overall, the quality of teaching is good. Children show good levels of engagement. Staff allow children time to finish what they are doing before encouraging them to come for a snack.

This helps children's continuity in learning experiences. It is not yet outstanding because: Occasionally, staff do not allow sufficient time for children to respond to questions posed. New systems for tracking and monitoring children's progress are not yet fully implemented, to help staff to very quickly identify emerging gaps in children's learning.
