Summary of key findings for parents

This provision is good • The dedicated manager supports staff well. Together as a team they are committed to continually developing the nursery provision, to promote the best possible outcomes for children.

• Staff have positive, caring relationships with the children. The key-person system is effective, and this leads to the children settling well and becoming confident in the setting. • Children's self-care skills and independence are promoted consistently throughout the nursery, during daily routines.

For example, babies feed themselves finger foods, while older children serve themselves nutritious lunches. • The indoor environment is well organised. A variety of good...-quality resources are accessible to children during the daily routine.

• Staff working with babies are particularly attentive. They know their children well and support their development effectively. • The manager supports continuous professional development.

However, it is not always precise enough to raise the quality of teaching throughout the nursery. • Opportunities are sometimes missed to explore how information can be shared with other settings in order to support the learning and development of children. • Although the outdoor area is well equipped, there is scope to develop more opportunities for children to explore the natural environment.
