Summary of key findings for parents

The provision is good • The quality of teaching is good.

Staff place a strong emphasis on promoting children's personal, social and emotional development. Children are happy and settled, they develop good bonds with staff. • Staff quickly identify any children who need additional support and those who have special educational needs and/or disabilities.

Effective partnerships with other professionals ensure children receive the support they need. • Partnerships with parents are effective. Staff work closely with parents when children first start at the pre-school, gaining information about their child's individual needs.

Parents are kept well informed about their... children's progress. • Children's communication is promoted well. Staff engage children in regular and meaningful conversations.

The staff's good interactions and modelling of language helps to build on children's developing language skills. It is not yet outstanding because: • Some targets set for children's future learning needs are not always ambitious enough to ensure children are able to progress at the highest possible rate. • Staff do not consistently share information with all other settings attended by children to fully complement children's care and learning experiences.
