This provision is good • Children enter a welcoming, exciting environment. Activities and resources are readily available. Staff plan each week taking account of children's ideas and requests.

Children settle quickly into the activities and enjoy telling staff all about their day at school. • Children enjoy the activities provided. They happily talk about the things they enjoy most about the club, especially the creative activities.

Children show high levels of concentration in the activities and show great pride in their work. • Staff know how to build on children's learning at school. For example, children broaden their awareness of different topics, such as recycling ...different materials and learning about different traditions and cultural celebrations.

• Children are able to rest in the club. A wide variety of books are freely available and soft seating enables children to sit quietly and relax. • Parents welcome the feedback they receive each day about their child.

Staff take time to pass messages from school directly to parents. • Routines for using information gained from parents and children as part of the self-evaluation process are not yet fully established. • Staff do not use opportunities available to them to enhance children's growing awareness of healthy eating and the impact unhealthy food can have on their bodies.
