This provision meets requirements Children settle very well.

They engage in a wide range of activities with enthusiasm. Children show care and kindness to each other and are confident to chat and share their ideas. They are supported by staff to articulate their feelings.

Children say that they love coming to their club. Staff listen and involve children when planning so that activities are designed around their interests. Children form strong friendships and appear to thoroughly enjoy each other's company.

They have enormous fun becoming large and small planets, or creating masks to become characters from story books, superheroes and magical crea...tures. Children participate in games and sports with eagerness. This helps them to build on their communication, social, physical and creative skills.

Staff engage enthusiastically with children throughout the day, beginning with a whole group session, where club rules and expectations are discussed. Children demonstrate their knowledge as they talk about not sharing their food, to protect their friends from foods that may harm them. They behave extremely well.

Staff set clear expectations, which they uphold consistently so messages for children are clear. Children show that they understand the setting's rules well, for example, they take turns when using equipment, hold doors open for others and play cooperatively. They are kind and respectful to one another and use toys and resources with care.

What does the early years setting do well and what does it need to do better?

Managers and staff create an energetic environment that is fun. Children focus extremely well on their chosen activity. They respond to familiar routines and develop very good independence.

When using toys, children take responsibility to make sure they are put away again when they have finished playing.Staff promote healthy lifestyles by talking with children about healthy food options, such as fresh fruit. This positive attitude to healthy eating helps children to learn about foods that are good for them.

Partnerships with parents are strong. Staff exchange information with them on a daily basis. This helps to keep them updated about their children's time at the setting.

Parents state that they are 'extremely happy' with the care that their children receive, and their children are 'always keen and excited to attend'.Staff set clear expectations and boundaries that help children to keep themselves and others safe. Children enjoy the 'colour points' reward system.

Regular, friendly competitions take place to see who can achieve the most points for their team, at the end of each day.Managers work well with staff in the host school. A good level of information is shared.

This helps to promote continuity of care for each child and is particularly valuable to ensure that children with special educational needs and/or disabilities or those who speak English as an additional language receive the support they need.The managers regularly review staff performance to help strengthen their practice. Staff are deployed well and are vigilant when supervising children.

Staff observe children's interests from the first day they attend. This enables them to build on what children enjoy and plan a wide range of activities that engage children in discovery.Children enjoy the opportunity to use their imagination.

They have great fun as they dress up, becoming pirates or princesses and vets. and using both their imagination and previous experiences to create their own storylines. Children are keen to include others in these games.

Activities include dance. Children eagerly become different planets from the solar system. They move their bodies in different ways to become big, tiny or fast-moving planets.

Staff engage children exceptionally well, using explanation, gestures, expressions and intonation to help relay meaning and fun. Children respond very well, and all maintain their concentration as they extend their physical skills.

Safeguarding

The arrangements for safeguarding are effective.

Managers work with staff to ensure that all adults have a clear understanding of safeguarding issues. Very good attention is given to developing their knowledge of child protection and wider issues. All staff update their training annually and ongoing discussions and quizzes help to keep that understanding current.

Staff know how to respond correctly to concerns about a child's welfare. Appropriate policies and procedures are in place to support the strong safeguarding culture. Safer recruitment procedures and ongoing supervision meetings help to ensure that all staff are and remain suitable to work with children.
