This provision is good Children are truly at the heart of decision making at the club. Staff value their views and comments. Children are confident, settled and independent.

The manager is enthusiastic and ambitious. He has worked hard to provide good-quality out-of-school provision since registration. The manager has built positive relationships with teaching staff and the headteacher.

He regularly meets with them to discuss children he may have a concern with and the school curriculum to support children's care, learning and development to a higher level. The manager and staff have a secure understanding of the age group with which they work. They interact very well wi...th the children.

They plan varied and imaginative experiences to promote children's learning and development. The key person helps to settle the youngest children in when they first start and parents are encouraged to stay for a while during the first session. Children settle quickly.

They are happy and thoroughly enjoy their time at the club. It is not yet outstanding because: On occasion, some children are not always encouraged to participate fully in the many activities at the club so that they can consistently take part and join in. Although staff receive initial inductions, cover staff from other sites do not always receive consistent support to help them understand more about their roles when they first start.
