Summary of key findings for parents

This provision is good Children who have special educational needs (SEN) and/or disabilities are very well supported by staff, some of whom have specific skills and training.

They work closely with parents and schools to ensure children's needs are met and they receive a consistent approach. This effective partnership working contributes to children's well-being. Since the last inspection, the management and staff team have continued to improve their service and demonstrate a strong commitment to supporting the children and their families.

Parents speak highly about the club and how friendly and approachable the staff are. They comment on how much their children enjoy at...tending. Staff are deployed effectively and ratios are maintained.

Risk assessments are in place to ensure that children are well supervised by staff who hold first-aid certificates indoors and outdoors, and when they use fixed play equipment in the school playground. Children are encouraged to make independent choices about their activities. They enjoy arts and crafts and playing games, such as dominoes and table football.

It is not yet outstanding because: Although there is effective communication between the school and the club relating to sharing information about children's care needs, staff do not seek details to enable them to consistently reinforce and complement children's learning fully. Staff are supported to continue with their ongoing professional development. However, plans to extend the monitoring of staff's practice have not yet been implemented.
