Summary of key findings for parents

This provision is good • The dedicated provider and staff are committed to providing high-quality experiences.

They seek the views of parents and children when evaluating the success of the club and planning future changes. • Staff warmly greet children, who are happy and confident as they enter the club. Staff listen and show a keen interest in children's experiences in, and outside of, the club.

This helps staff to get to know children very well. • Staff have a good understanding of out-of-school care. They ensure that children can relax and socialise with their friends.

Staff balance this well with opportunities for children to engage in stimulating activitie...s that support their continued learning. • Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities are well supported. Staff are knowledgeable about children's individual care needs.

They attend specific training and form strong and highly effective partnerships with other professionals. • Staff exchange messages between school and parents and they make sure parents are kept up to date. Parents describe the club as great and say that 'staff are really friendly, accommodating and supportive'.

• Systems for monitoring staff practice are not fully developed. They do not yet clearly identify individual training needs to help to raise the quality of staff interactions with children to the highest level. • Staff sometimes do things for children that they can try to do for themselves and occasionally overlook opportunities to encourage children's independence further.
