This provision is outstanding Teaching is very strong throughout the nursery. Staff are extremely effective at communicating with children. Staff are skilled in developing children's speech and language.

Children who are at risk of falling behind in their communication and language development catch up quickly. Leaders and managers are highly ambitious for the nursery and the children. They regularly consult with parents, staff and children.

This results in focused changes that enhance children's time at the nursery. For example, forest school activities now extend children's outdoor learning experiences. Staff have an in-depth understanding of how young children learn.<...br/>
They plan exciting, interesting and challenging experiences for the children. Activities are skilfully extended and developed by staff to retain children's interest in learning. As a result, children are extremely well-prepared for school.

Children who have special educational needs and/or disabilities, their parents and their key person receive excellent support from a staff member who is highly skilled in this area. As a result, the children are fully involved in nursery life. Staff work closely with other professionals, such as speech and language therapists.

Staff include targets set by the other professionals in the children's next steps for learning. Staff pay close and careful attention to settling children into the nursery. They use innovative methods to gather detailed information from parents about their child.

Staff encourage families to share information about the child's family and home life. This helps staff to welcome and settle children into the nursery quickly. Children behave exceptionally well.

Staff communicate their expectations to the children clearly. As a result, children know, understand and follow the nursery routines. This creates a calm and purposeful learning environment.
