Summary of key findings for parents

This provision is good • The dedicated management team and staff are committed to providing the best possible service for children and families. They continually evaluate their practice to make positive changes to the nursery, such as developing a rich and vibrant outdoor space.

• Staff are exceptionally caring and attentive. Babies benefit from warm and nurturing interactions and form very secure attachments with staff. Staff build on children's emotional development very successfully as they move through the nursery.

For example, they provide a 'family book' for each child to enhance their sense of security. • The experienced staff have a good understanding of how chil...dren learn through play. For example, they encourage children to look very closely at earthworms they find as they enjoy digging.

Children show curiosity and interest and develop a secure understanding of the natural world. They make good progress from their starting points. • Partnerships with parents are very strong.

An effective two-way flow of information about children's achievements provides a consistent approach to children's learning. • Staff do not consistently make the most of opportunities to extend younger children's counting skills during activities and routines. • Occasionally, staff miss opportunities to encourage older children to follow their own ideas to extend their thinking skills and solve problems.
