This is a good school The inspirational headteacher and the leadership team, including governors, have brought stability to the school after a long period of turbulence.

As a result, Camelot Primary is now a good school. All leaders know the school and its local community well. They have high expectations and a strong vision, captured by the school motto, 'Exceptional every day'.

Pupils, staff and parents share leaders' ambitions. Leaders, including middle leaders are having a positive impact on teaching and learning. They are able to track pupils' progress effectively in order to provide well-targeted support.

All teachers implement the school's appr...oach to teaching, learning and assessment consistently. The feedback that they give to pupils is effective. As a result, pupils make good progress.

The leadership of early years is strong. Staff develop children's creativity and curiosity very well. Consequently, children make good or better progress and achieve a good level of development that is in line with national expectations and is improving.

The school's focus on reading is having a positive impact on pupils' attitudes to reading. As a result, the standard of reading is good. The standard of writing is good across the school because pupils are given the opportunity to practise their skills across a range of subjects.

Additional funding for disadvantaged pupils is used effectively to provide targeted work and guidance. As a result, these pupils are making good progress. The curriculum is broad and enriching.

Pupils engage well with topics that are meaningful. They value trips that broaden their horizons and have access to a range of sporting opportunities. This is encouraging pupils to attend school more regularly.

However, there are times when some pupils lose concentration because the work is either too easy or too hard. Pupils are polite, welcoming and proud of their school and their work. Although behaviour is good overall, there are times when some pupils are not as calm and orderly as others when moving around the school.

Staff are not consistent enough in extending the knowledge and skills of the most able pupils across the curriculum.
