This is a good school Leadership is good. Leaders use accurate evaluations of the school's effectiveness to drive further improvement.

The trust provides strong governance for Ludlow Infant Academy. Trustees secure strong accountability, for example in how leaders spend the school's money. The school's values are embedded successfully.

They contribute effectively to pupils' good behaviour within lessons and during play. The school's broad curriculum builds pupils' knowledge and understanding well. There is an appropriate range of clubs and educational visits to enrich learning.

Teaching is good throughout the school. Learning is carefully planned to e...nsure that most pupils make good progress from their starting points. Personal development and welfare at Ludlow Infant Academy is outstanding.

Vulnerable pupils' social and emotional needs are cared for particularly well. Safeguarding is effective. Leaders work diligently with other child protection officers to protect pupils from harm.

Pupils have a good knowledge of how to keep themselves safe. Pupils' spiritual, moral, social and cultural development is good. For instance, pupils learn about the sacrifices that others make when they participate in national and regional events of remembrance.

Provision in the early years is good. Children develop effectively their emerging reading, writing and number skills in this vibrant setting. Leaders are not yet monitoring teaching and learning across the wider curriculum closely enough.

The management of subjects beyond English and mathematics is still developing at Ludlow Infant Academy. Some lessons are not sufficiently challenging to ensure that the most able pupils, including those from disadvantaged backgrounds, achieve at the highest standards. In the early years, some adult interactions and questioning are not focused sharply enough on developing children's skills and knowledge.

Rates of attendance at Ludlow Infant Academy need to improve further. Pupils who have special educational needs (SEN) and/or disabilities miss too much school.
