Summary of key findings for parents and pupils

This is a good school The headteacher has instilled a culture of high expectations that is shared by all teachers and governors.

All staff are focused upon achieving strong academic outcomes and high standards of care for all pupils. Leaders have developed a distinctive curriculum that develops the wider personal attributes of pupils. Through the 'Preston curriculum' pupils acquire skills of resilience and independence that enhance their learning.

As a result of thorough planning, good classroom routines and regular assessment, pupils are engaged in their learning and make consistently good progress. Governors are committed to the school's ethos and are closel...y involved in the life of the school. They provide clear support and challenge and hold leaders to account for key aspects of performance.

All teachers are committed to developing the highest standards of behaviour and welfare. Through initiatives such as 'family groups', pupils across year groups show respect and care for one another. The arrangements for safeguarding pupils are extremely effective.

All staff and governors are continually mindful of pupils' welfare. Leaders have developed positive relationships with parents and carers. Parents greatly value the care their children receive and the opportunities the school provides for them.

Provision in the early years has developed significantly over the past two years. The learning environment has been enhanced and imaginative and rigorously planned experiences support children in making good rates of progress. Disadvantaged pupils and pupils who have special educational needs and/or disabilities make good progress as a result of effective teaching, deft support and close monitoring.

Pupils acquire regular opportunities to develop leadership skills as digital leaders, school ambassadors and through charity and fundraising activities. Teaching does not consistently challenge the most able pupils to move on in their learning in order to work at greater depth. The strong progress pupils make in writing and reading is not consistently matched in mathematics across all year groups.
