Description of the school

St Joseph's is an average sized primary school. Most pupils come from a White British background, with a small number from other ethnic backgrounds. Nearly all pupils speak English as their first language.

The proportion of pupils eligible for free school meals is below average. The proportion of pupils with learning difficulties and/or disabilities is also below average. Children start school in the Nursery class with skills and abilities that are generally in line with those expected for their age.
