Description of the school

This is an average sized school situated in a semi-rural area on the outskirts of Gateshead. All pupils are of White British heritage. The proportion of pupils eligible for a free school meal is below average, as is the proportion of pupils with learning difficulties and/or disabilities.

The school has achieved its tenth Healthy School Award. It also has a Basic Skills Quality Mark and International School status. It was recently awarded the Primary School of the Year award by a national newspaper.
