This is a good school The headteacher's inspiring and resolute leadership have ensured that the dip in pupil outcomes in 2016 has been addressed successfully.

This is a rapidly improving school. Governors provide strong and decisive leadership. They expertly combine challenge and support for school leaders which builds confidence throughout the school.

All staff share the headteacher's inclusive vision to provide the richest possible learning opportunities for pupils. This has a positive impact on the pupils' learning and development. The curriculum is a strength of the school.

Pupils are involved in its review and design and it reflects their interes...ts as well as national requirements. School leaders recognise the need to ensure that science is delivered as planned. Teaching, learning and assessment are good.

Teachers have good subject knowledge and questioning skills. They plan imaginative activities which meet pupils' needs. The balance of high-quality teaching and additional support ensures that all pupils succeed.

Pupils' personal development and welfare are outstanding. Pupils have very positive attitudes to learning. They enjoy the many leadership opportunities they have in school and develop into confident young people.

Pupils' behaviour is good. They develop good manners and show respect for each other and adults. Pupils currently in the school are making good progress across the range of subjects.

At key stage 2, pupils' writing is particularly strong, as a result of good teaching. Disadvantaged pupils and pupils who have special educational needs and/or disabilities make good progress as a result of strong leadership, deployment of resources and carefully planned teaching. The most able pupils make good progress in reading, writing and mathematics but do not always make the same levels of progress in the topic work, which is less challenging.

The provision for the early years is good. Skilled leaders have ensured that all pupils make good progress. Adults sometimes miss opportunities to develop pupils' speaking skills further.
